Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ 3 posts in 1 Tie Dye Technique

1658453_10203389041834613_393122815_o

Welcome back to our last set of March projects!  March has been a crazy month around here! I can’t believe this is our last set of projects.  … speaking of crazy, I went a little crazy creating with the box of goodies that we had as well as with this Tie Dye technique.  I have so much to show you and just couldn’t stop.  I’ve got lots to share today and believe it or not, this is the narrowed down version.  I’ve got three sets of stuff for today but will be back with more in the coming days.  For now, I’ve selected just the Tie Dye projects.

Before I share my projects though, I’ve got to share some important Happy Birthday wishes with my now-in-the-double-digits, son! He turned 10 today.  In case you missed it, be sure to check back to the set of Banner Blast Progressive Pages that I created for him that were featured on the SU blog last week.

Now here’s what I have to share this week!  Be forewarned, there’s plenty of inspiration and plenty of Tie Dye going on here!

This set of cards is a spin off from a technique that I did with my Technique and Scrapbook clubs this month.  Remember the Canvas Creations Spiral Flower I did last week, it was a spin off from this project… the crafting has been kind of out of control!  Stay tuned til the end though, I’ve got a little tutorial for you again.

This is one of the Scrapbook Pages that I created (with some color and layout inspiration from Pinterest) for my Scrapbook Club.  I used elements and DSP from the Bermuda Bay Celebrations Add On kit on this page and on their 2nd page as well.  I’ll come back to share that 2nd page with you in another post.  Now to figure out which photos I’d like to add.  When I create for club, I don’t always start with the photos and sometimes do the page first .. it works for me though, then I can co-ordinate the photos to the page.

I created the Bermuda Bay card that co-ordinates with the Scrapbook Page but we got the Calypso Coral Celebrations Add-On kit in our box this month so, I wanted to incorporate it into the Tie Dye effect and created this color combo as well.

This card below is the one that is responsible for it all!  I started out weeks ago with a piece of Canvas Creations and doing the Tie Dye technique on it.  I knew I wanted to do the technique with my clubs but to keep it budget-friendly I wanted to offer an alternate option so we created the technique on both Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock.  It worked out great on all three.

Here’s another version on cardstock.

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Tie Dye ~ Sleepless Stamper

Here you can see some of the details.  I used Starburst Sayings and paired it with the Starburst and Circle Framelits to create the greeting.

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Tie Dye ~ Sleepless Stamper

Here are a couple of other versions.  You can stop at just creating the rings or go all in and add the bursts of water/bleaching to your project as well.  We also tried a little splattering of ink by picking up some reinker with the Aqua Painter and splatting it onto the cardstock after we were all done with the Tie Dye effect.  I wasn’t kidding when I said I couldn’t stop!

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Tie Dye ~ Sleepless Stamper

These are the three different looks on the Canvas.  One just with the rings of color, one with the rings of water added and the final one with the bursts added in as well. Which is your favorite?!

Now on with the tutorial. Be sure to click on the photo to see a larger version.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Oh, here’s a sneak peek at what I did with the Watercolor Notecards.. I’ll be sharing those this week as well so if you’re in need of ideas on what to do with those little beauties, be sure to stop back.  Sometimes I just wish I could sit and craft all day.. there was no shortage of projects coming out of the March box of goodies!

Be sure to hop along to see what Becky has to share today and don’t forget to stop at each of the other girls blogs.  As always, I can’t wait to see what they created to share with us today.

A Banner Blast From the Past

Banner Blast Progressive Pages ~ Sleepless Stamper

I had the honor of being a guest blogger on the Stampin’ Up Blog this week.  Here are the projects I shared.

Banner Blast brings back Progressive Pages.  The concept of Progressive Pages has been around for a long time but It’s been awhile since I’ve made a point of creating a progressional series of projects using the same sketch.

Using a sketch is a great way to overcome any crafting challenges you may have.  One of the challenges or requests that I hear most often is for masculine themed inspiration.  A simple sketch to follow, paired with the co-ordinating Banner Blast Stamp set and Banner Punch is the perfect solution!  Ink them up with the colors of your favourite sports team or your kids favourite color, stamp on some matching cardstock and you can create masculine banners in a cinch!

Don’t miss your chance, Banner Blast is only available until March 31st.  You can get it for free during Sale a Bration with a $60  order.  Shop HERE or contact myself or your demonstrator to place your order before March 31st so that you can get your free Sale a Bration items before they are gone!

I didn’t follow a sketch for this series but came up with a simple sketch for the card and used that as my spring board to create a set of scrapbook pages as well.  Choosing the colours was easy, my son is turning 10 very soon and is a big fan of our local NHL team, the Jets!  Their team colors were the go-to colors for this ensemble!

I started my series off with this, Happy Birthday card.  I stamped a variety of the images from Banner Blast in a variety of colors of ink on a combination of Whisper White cardstock and the matching colours of cardstock as well to create some fun banner sets.  (the colors I used are, Night of Navy, Real Red, Basic Grey and some accents of Smoky Slate)

Banner Blast Progressive Pages ~ Sleepless Stamper

I used my Stampin Write markers to finish off the words ‘happy’ and ‘birthday’ to go with the ‘H’ and ‘B’ that were cut with the Typeset Alphabet Bigs Dies. Your Stampin’ Write markers are a great way to be selective in which parts of your stamps you use when you don’t want the whole image or greeting!  I’ll show you more of that on the next card.

Banner Blast Progressive Pages ~ Sleepless Stamper

Here’s an alternate version of the card that I created to celebrate this milestone birthday that we are about to celebrate.  Notice here that I used the the whole word, ‘happy’ which is still only part of the ‘happy birthday’ stamp from the Big Wish stamp set but that I’ve selected only the ‘th’ from birthday to finish of ‘10th’.  Coloring on the images with your markers makes this pretty easy to accomplish.

Banner Blast Progressive Pages ~ Sleepless Stamper

I wanted to anchor the die cut letters and numbers to my cards but didn’t want to take away any focus from those die cut elements so I chose to lightly sponge a starburst using Smoky Slate ink and the negative space from a die cut and then used that feature throughout the rest of my projects.

Banner Blast Progressive Pages ~ Sleepless Stamper

Scaling up to an 8×8 page, I added an extra layer of banners and up-sized the buttons from the Basics Metal Buttons and layered two sizes together.  Tip: ‘threads’ of cardstock are a great way to create co-ordinating thread for your projects.  I don’t know about you, but naked buttons just scream to me that they need to be dressed! The Epic Day and Make Note Rotary stamps are a quick & fun way to create little journaling tags for your pages! … use them… you might even feel like a kid again! .. they take me right back to dating library cards when signing out books at the library!

Banner Blast Progressive Pages ~ Sleepless Stamper

Have a closer look at the details.  Just click on the photo here to be taken to a larger version that you can see up close.

Banner Blast Progressive Pages ~ Sleepless Stamper

To complete the series, I layered the 8×8 page onto a 12×12 background and added some extra banners and a couple more details to finish it off.  Again, I incorporated the sponged starbursts to anchor the added elements to the page.  Going to a Jets game was a Christmas gift to our boys.  From painting their faces before the game right down to the shoot out that won the game for our team, it was a night to remember and now they’ll each get one of these pages framed in a shadow box to keep in their rooms as a keepsake of this fun family gift!

Now, just swap out the colors to your favourite team (pro or of your very own little league sports star) and you’ve got a series of masculine themed projects at your finger tips!

AWW Facebook Friday Edition ~ Canvas Creations Spiral Flower

1658453_10203389041834613_393122815_o

Welcome to the March edition of Facebook Friday.  The projects we have to share today were all featured on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page last Friday and today we are here to share all of the details.

I do have a couple of tutorials for you to show how I made the Canvas Spiral Flower and how I dyed the ombre fringe but first take a peek at this dressed up treat bag from the Celebrations Basics Kit.

AWW Facebook Friday Edition ~ Canvas Creations Spiral Flower ~ Sleepless Stamper

This project spiralled out of a technique that I did with my technique club this month.  I started dying canvas to do a different technique that I’ll bring back to you in next week’s post and after taking a couple of different directions along the way, it turned into this multi-toned Canvas Spiral Flower.  I’ll show you in the photos below how I created this look. *if the photos aren’t large enough to read the instructions, just click on the photo to view a larger version.

Now, that you’ve died your canvas, check out the photos below for a little extra info and to see how I assembled the flower.

AWW ~ Facebook Friday Canvas Spiral Flower ~ Sleepless Stamper

Look closely at the photos, you’ll see that I have fringe cut the pieces of the spiral flower that I used to create the center of the flower.  *note: I did NOT use the fringe scissors and instead used my paper snips.

AWW ~ Facebook Friday Canvas Spiral Flower ~ Sleepless Stamper

I hope the photos help show how to color the canvas and create this multi-toned canvas flower.  Let me know if you have any questions!

Once, I had the flower all created I wanted to come up with a fancy way to dress it up to embellish this bag so I got playing around and ended up  pairing it with some fringed streamers from the Celebrations Add-On Kit (that I dyed in an ombre pattern ~ tutorial below) and a splash of Gold Sequin Trim.  Now, here’s a little closer view of that Ombre Crepe Paper Fringe and a tutorial on how you can do this yourself in any colors you choose!

AWW Facebook Friday Edition ~ Canvas Creations Spiral Flower ~ Sleepless Stamper

Note: The tutorial shows you how to make enough ombre fringe for 3 flowers.  Again, if the instructions show up too small on your screen, just click the photo to see a larger version.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

AWW ~ Facebook Friday Canvas Spiral Flower ~ Sleepless Stamper

I really like how it  all came together to embellish this happy little treat bag. Now what should go inside?

Let’s hop along to Becky next.. funny how things work out when we all work from the same box of stampin’ goodies!  Once I got reading Becky’s post, I realized she had some dyed crepe paper too!  Be sure to check out her version and the video tutorial from Stampin’ Up! that she shared! You’ll learn some more ways to create the Ombre look as well as other materials you can achieve this look with!  .. don’t forget to stop in at each of the Artisan’s blogs!

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Spiral Lily Flower with Frog Punch Art

1658453_10203389041834613_393122815_o

Welcome back again to what is already our second March project!  As always, I’m excited to see what my fellow team members have created and I hope you find some inspiration in the hop today!

I made another project using the Spiral die to share with you for this week.  We were playing around with the die at my team meeting this month and one of the girls on my team was showing us how you can cut points in each of the spirals to make a different style of flower.  So when she pointed out that it looks like Lily Flower… it got me going with thoughts of frog punch art and lily pads and lily flowers and I asked if she’d mind if I used her idea of a Lily Flower and ran with it!  Here’s what I came up with and thanks Julie for sharing the Lily Flower idea with me! .. it’s one of my favorite things about sharing SU with other stampers and demonstrators, the inspiration that we all share with each other!

Artisan Wedensday Wow ~ Spiral Lily Flower

I had good plans to come back with some photos/tutorials on how to do some of the things that I’ve done on this card but some life circumstances have thrown a wrench into those plans for this week and so I will plan to come back to show you how.  If you’d like to know how I created the waves in the water or how I did the frog punch art or Lily Flower, please comment to let me know and I’ll do my best to get back with those for you. In the mean time, here are some closer photos and I’ll give you a little explanation here!

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Spiral Lily Flower

The Cat tails are created with the word window and the Tulip from Backyard Basics Framelits.  The little piece that sticks out the top is the little cherry from the cupcake punch.  The frog is mostly created with the small oval punch.  I’ll be back to show you how I altered the size of the ovals for the belly of the frog and the head.  I created the waves by cutting a piece of window sheet with the scallop border from the Tasteful Trim die and using that as a stencil to sponge some two-toned waves (I used Coastal Cabana and Whisper White).

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Spiral Lily Flower

I thought that the ‘pssst’ greeting went well on the front but that it needed to be finished off on the inside with a greeting to go with it so I stamped, ‘you make me happy’ from Happy Watercolor and created a mini Lily Flower with the Petite Petals Punch to accent it.  .. and anything to bring a little splash of Spring and of Happiness to our World can only help!

Stay tuned for more information! Let’s go see what Becky has to share! Be sure to hop on all the way through to all of the Artisans! They’re sure to have great projects to share with you!

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Spiral Flower Topiary Tree

1658453_10203389041834613_393122815_o

Welcome to March.. welcome to Spring! Thanks for joining us again this week! … I’m running with the flowers and Spring theme.. if we’re going to live in a Frozen World of -50 (or so it was on March 1st here where we live), I’m going to bring Spring to you! .. even if it’s in the way of paper flowers! One way or another, the happiness of flowers and bright colors have entered the studio and I’m loving creating pretty things!

I finally got a chance to play with the Spiral Flower die and I’ve got some more in the works with it to share with you, but for today I’ve got one of my favorite projects to share!  This project is definitely the most time intensive but I really love how it turned out!   I’ve always loved Topiaries but have never made one myself until now and I’m happy with how this one turned out.

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Spiral Flower Topiary Tree ~ Sleepless Stamper

Here’s a little closer view.

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Spiral Flower Topiary Tree ~ Sleepless Stamper

There are about 50 sets of flowers on this project.  I cut out the same number in each Island Indigo Coredinations and Pool Party Coredinations cardstock.   The Pool Party flower is layered on top of the Island Indigo layer and then I rolled them together to create a two-layered, two-toned flower.  I cut a 5/8″  by 4″ strip of Very Vanilla Coredinations cardstock and cut that with the Fringe Scissors to create the center of each of the flowers.  The petals are curled back (by using a bone folder) and everything is sponged with Soft Suede ink.

I found it easiest to to glue the flowers into the spiral with a hot glue gun…easiest, but not the safest! My fingers took a bit of a beating making this project! … kinda totally reminded me of this…

1922365_10152210159284911_812148183_n

that pretty much sums up the hours I spent making this project! <wink>.  The flowers were actually pinned into a 4″ styrofoam ball.

The greenery is made out of Old Olive and Pear Pizazz Designer Series Paper.  I  curled 1/4″ x  3″ strips of each by using the bone folder and then pinned (at the center of the length of the strip) them into the Floral Foam that is in the flower pot.  If you were in on the craze of the Curly Paper Wreaths at Christmas time, this process will make sense.  I wrapped the dowel in 1/8″ Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon and embellished the Topiary a little with some Very Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon and a little Linen Thread.

Let me know if you have any questions!  I hope to one day make another one of these!  .. that won’t be right away, I’ve got some other Spiral Flower projects to make first but first, let’s go see what Becky has to share!  Make sure to hop through all of the Artisan’s projects, there will be plenty of good stuff to see!

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Two Cute Chicks

02-Feb-Blog-Hop-Button

Welcome back to our final February Artisan Wednesday Wow post! I’ve loved a lot of things in this box that we got to create with for you and am excited to dig into the next box.. be sure to come back next week to see a whole new round of products and projects!

When I was doing something with a frame filled with chicken wire (that I use for displays) I realized that the Hexagon Hive would make a great chicken wire cut out.. so I got to work creating this card to share with you.

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Two Cute Chicks ~ Sleepless Stamper

Now that chicken wire wouldn’t be complete without some cute little animals to go with it!  I love creating punch art… there’s just something fun about how it turns out and it always seems to have such a wow factor with how cute the creations can be!  Add a little sponging and combine that with the Faux Suede technique and your punch art creations almost come to life! Since the Faux Suede technique reveals the soft inner layers of the cardstock, it’s a perfect addition to punch art creations as it gives a whole new layer of dimension that you can see and FEEL.  I hope you can see that soft layer in the photos but be sure to give it a try! I’ve included a tutorial below for you on how to achieve the Faux Suede effect (along with a tutorial on some of the pieces of the rooster and the chicken).

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Two Cute Chicks ~ Sleepless Stamper

This one is a tad closer.  I just think these little guys (and gal) are so cute.. and they make me happy because them remind me of my friend Diana! You can see here where I stamped the Hardwood background on  a piece of Sahara Sand to put behind the chicken wire.  I also drew little lines to resemble the twists in the wire on real chicken wire.  The ‘nest’ is created with the fringe scissors and some Naturals Ivory cardstock.  The eggs are created with the small oval and then stamped on with the splotch from Gorgeous Grunge. There are plenty of little details in this card but once in a while a card with a lot of steps is worth the cuteness.. my boys LOVED this one!

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Two Cute Chicks ~ Sleepless Stamper

I’ve created a tutorial for you on how to do some of the pieces of the rooster and the chicken.  I figured the rest was easily determined but if you have any questions at all, please ask.  The body of each the rooster and the chicken are upside down hearts (the rooster is the 3rd size up of the heart framelits and the chicken is from the heart punch).  Here is this little tutorial for you.

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Two Cute Chicks ~ Sleepless Stamper

Here’s another tutorial for you on how to get the Faux Suede effect.  I did some faux suede with my technique club this month.  I’ll have to come back to share those projects with you later.

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Two Cute Chicks Faux Suede ~ Sleepless Stamper

TIP: to make it easier to punch the shapes that you need for your creations out of this faux suede paper, first glue your sueded pieces down (sueded side up) to ‘whole’ cardstock of the same color.  It’s much easier to punch through and more stable to create with!

Here’s a couple more tutorials for you on how to get that chicken wire look using the Hexagon Hive Framelit.

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Chicken Wire Tutorial ~ Sleepless Stamper

Here is the method I used to create the chicken wire.. did you know that if you flip the die cut piece over and run it through with the Hexagon Hive a 2nd time you can cut most of the hexagons (all but 3) out?! The hexagons that were left intact will match up with where the die cuts out the hexagons by flipping it over.  See here!  (*note: when I ran mine through it was offset just a TINY bit so that each of the hexagons was not perfectly even. In THIS picture they were cut evenly)

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Chicken Wire Tutorial ~ Sleepless Stamper

Well that’s a lot to take in for one night. I hope the tutorials are helpful and that at least one of them inspires you!  Now, let’s go see what Becky and the rest of the Artisans have to share!  I always love this part of my week.. getting to see what they’ve created!

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Be Mine

02-Feb-Blog-Hop-Button

Welcome back to this week’s special edition of Artisan Wednesday Wow.  This week, we have our projects that were featured on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page last Friday to share with you.  It feels like we just shared our last Facebook project and here we are already past mid February!

The Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die was immediately a top item on my wishlist when I saw the occasions catalog! There are so many fun things to create with it. This was my first project using this die, so I started with the basic idea of the die and added in a little bit of gold vintage. I am looking forward to using this fun die on plenty more projects. What fun things have you created with it?

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Be Mine

I also used the On-Film Framelit die set on this card to capture the greeting.  I combined a ‘B’ cut out of Champagne Glimmer paper with the Typeset Alphabet Bigs Dies and the Simply Serif mini alphabet set along with ‘sweet’ from Quite the Pair.

Let’s go see Becky’s project! don’t forget to hop all the way through! The team has some great projects to share again this week! Jen also used the Hexagon Hive and I LOVE her card!

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ MDS Valentine Canvas Tote

02-Feb-Blog-Hop-Button

Welcome back to the 2nd February Edition of Artisan Wednesday Wow! Are you all ready for Valentines?!  We’ve still got some work to do in our house (Science Fair projects have been in the works here so we’ve got to finish that up before we move onto Valentines for the boys classmates!) but I did manage to get a gift made for the teachers so that I could share it with you today in time for you to create your own! MDS makes it a cinch and when I open it up to play I usually love what results.. I really need to MDS more often!

Here’s what I made for you today.. with a LITTLE help from the boys! They helped with giving the final say on the design and helped put the tags on and wrote on their own gift tags.  .. they had to have at least a hand in the project for their teachers.  We made iron on labels to put on these cute canvas bags from the craft store so that their teachers would have a reusable bag to use to collect their Valentine cards in from year to year.   Hopefully they’ll use them and hopefully it’ll solve the problem of the tattered paper bag (as cute as they are) that barely makes it through Valentines day! .. I know I’d love to have one for ME!

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ MDS Valentine's Bag ~ Sleepless Stamper

I used a variety of elements from the Mailbox Love Notes Digital Class to create the images in MDS.  When you are using them as an iron on, be SURE to MIRROR your images before you print them…. otherwise you’ll end up with wasted sheets of iron on transfer… I MAY just be speaking from experience! Here’s another view of each of the bags and some of the details.  Each bag has both sides decorated like the two sides you see here.

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ MDS Valentine's Bag ~ Sleepless Stamper

I used one of the heart border images to create an iron on transfer border for each side of the top of the bag.  I also cropped that same image to create a line to ‘sign’ on for the ‘to/from’ line.

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ MDS Valentine's Bag ~ Sleepless Stamper

This tag to hang on the bag was made with most of the same elements.  I just flipped the tag to a portrait orientation so that there was a little more variation in the elements of the project once it was all put together and hanging on the gift bag.  The boys each signed their tag before we layered the pieces of the tag.  I printed three tags for each one so that we could add dimension by layering pieces of the tag.

I hope you’re inspired to play with MDS and iron-on transfers… it really is a fun way to create custom projects!

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Oh Snap! Punch Art & Fringe

02-Feb-Blog-Hop-Button

Welcome to February!  HOW can that be already?!  A whole month of 2014 is behind us and with that a month full of projects are too and we’re into our February box of stamping goodies that we get to create for you with!  This Occasions Catalogue is so full of fun stuff that it’s exciting to come back each week with new things to share with you! Last month, I dedicated the month to Valentines projects and today’s project is quite a different theme than that.  I have used a similar layout to one that I used last month for this card but the theme is a whole other direction! Here’s the card I have for you this week!

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Oh Snap ~ Sleepless Stamper

Now, this may look like it’s just all punch art .. BUT… we got the fringe scissors in our box this month and so I wanted to incorporate those into my design and came up with a few fun ways of doing that!  Have a look! Can you guess which elements are created with the Fringe Scissors?!

Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Oh Snap! ~ Sleepless Stamper

I created the rays on the sun, the grass edge and the yellow lines (Daffodil Delight) all with the Fringe Scissors.  To get the rays on the sun, I snipped a border out of Daffodil Delight and a border out of Pumpkin Pie and then ripped out every 2nd fringe on each color.  Next, I adhered them to eachother by offsetting them so that each color filled in the gap of the next color… I hope that makes sense?!  As I was making this for the sun, I was thinking it would make a great mane for a Lion!  I covered the back of the circle of the sun with Sticky Strip and then wrapped the fringe border behind the circle.  I kinda liked  how it looked imperfect so I chose not to ‘clean up’ the edges to make it more even. The little pieces I tore off the Daffodil Delight strip became the dotted-line on the road.  To get the hilly road, I just drew a line and then traced that onto the Gumball Green and Basic Black layers and hand cut them.  I cut two layers of the Gumball Green layer so that I could use the Fringe Scissors on one layer to make it look like the grass was growing up to the edge of the road.  I textured the remaining Gumball Green with the Decorative Dots folder from Sale a Bration! I used the Basic Metal Buttons from the Occasions Catalogue to embellish the wheels.   The ‘Polaroid Frame’ is from the On Film Framelits and the DSP (both for the frame and for the card background) is from the Kaleidoscope DSP pack.  I layered all of the elements for the photo frame to a piece of coaster board for durability and dimension.  It made keeping all of these elements together a cinch!

What would you use a card with this greeting for?!  My kids had all kinds of scenarios going for what this card could be used for!  I hope you’re inspired to play with your Fringe Scissor and a little punch art is always a lot of fun!

Hop along with me to see what Becky has and always be sure to hop through the rest of the Artisan’s projects to see what inspiration they have to share with you!

Leadership Display 2014 ~ You’re Lovely

Stampin' Up! Leadership Display 2014

I’ve got two more projects from my Leadership samples to share today!  These two showcase the ‘You’re Lovely’ Sale A Bration stamp set.  You can get it free with a $60 purchase.  The rest of the Artisan Team is sharing all of their projects now to so be sure to follow the links at the bottom of my post for plenty of ideas and inspiration!

First up is a card with a contrast of Basic Black and Coastal Cabana.

Leadership Display 2014 ~ You're Lovely ~ Sleepless Stamper

I stamped the border image in Whisper White Craft Ink and chose to let it dry rather than heat setting it with powder.  I cut just half of the Deco Label image out of the middle of one side of the Coastal Cabana layer and then embossed the Coastal Cabana layer with the Decorative Dots Embossing folder.  I stamped the image from You’re Lovely with Versamark onto Watercolor paper and then heat set with Black Embossing Powder and water colored the flowers with a blender pen and my ink pads.  It was a fun sketch to work with and this style of card would work great in a variety of colors and with an array of framelits!  I’ll be trying this one again! How about you?

Here’s the You’re Lovely Stamp Set.  You can view the entire Sale a Bration Brochure HERE by clicking the image that says, ‘see the sale a bration brochure now’.  If you would like your own copy, be sure to let me know.

A couple of weeks ago, I shared a Valentine Notebook.  It was a take on this notebook that I created with some inspiration from a card I had seen.  I wanted to work the concept from my inspiration into a notepad and tie it together with a pencil for writing.  Here is how it turned out!

Again, I stamped the image onto Watercolor Paper and then Pool Party with Versamark ink and then heat set with Black Embossing powder before coloring it in with my blender pens.  Just like my Valentine notebook the background pattern is a piece of one of the Chevron bags from the Tag A Bag sets in the Annual catalogue.  I tied some Whisper White Baker’s Twine and some Black 1/8″ Taffeta ribbon around the pencil and tied it up to the notebook with some Pool Party Baker’s Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack from Sale a Bration.

This little notebook would make a great host/hostess gift .. something to inspire your host or hostess to earn those Sale A Bration items and it gives them a place to keep their wishlist.  Who can you make a pretty notebook for?!
