2013 Artisan Design Team Blog Hop ~ Project 4

We’re back again today to share the 4th of our projects with you! I’m loving seeing everyone’s creations and hope that you are too!

Today’s project is the 2nd of my scrapbook pages.  I love this one as captures a family memory of our trip to the Magic Kingdom in Disneyworld.  Lennon was all about pirates when he was turning 5 and his biggest wish was to go to the Pirates League for a Pirate Transformation.  It was worth every. single. penny!

Most of this page was created in MDS! I applied the skull stamp from the Ahoy Matey download and then enlarged it to the size it is on this scrapbook page and then imported it into my e-cutter. I used the negative space as a stencil and sponged the giant skull onto my background paper.  I love the versatility of using MDS with the e-cutter!

I also created all of the little embellishments in the banner here in MDS as well.  I applied them into punches in MDS knowing that the MDS punches print the same size as our real life punches.  This made creating the banner easy.  All I had to do was insert the DSP from the Ahoy Matey download into the punches in MDS, print them, punch them out with my real punches and then create the banner.  There were a lot of layers but it allowed me to create exactly what I needed. No extra letters, I wasn’t any letters short.. I could print as many of each pattern of flag as I needed and I was able to co-ordinate the patterns just as I wanted them! I’ll definitely need to recreate this page (maybe even 3 times, once for each boy and once for me to keep).. with most of this being MDS created, the only item I need to worry about being retired is the First Edition Background paper.. but I was sure to get more before it was gone!

Make sure to check out Becky’s Scrapbook page next! Banners are a popular trend! Be sure to go all the way through to the end of the hop and if you’re like me and like to go backwards (I always go through a magazine starting at the back cover) then click back to see Mercedes’ creation, I’m sure you’ll be impressed!
