2013 Artisan Design Team Blog Hop ~ Project 9

Thanks for stopping back again today! We appreciate your support in coming back each day to let us share our projects with you!  I can’t believe we are down to just two projects left to show you!

Here is my 2nd last project and my first 3D item.  Awhile back I had created a similar family photo tray (with one of my all time fave lines, Spice Cake) and wanted to do one of just my boys, these two brothers, to submit for my entry!  There is a lot going on with this tray, so I’ll also show you a photo of each compartment to help see the variety of techniques and embellishments!  Enjoy!

The Espresso button in this photo is actually one of the Silver Basics Designer buttons that I embossed with versamark and espresso embossing powder.

In this next photo you can see that I flattened and embossed the Soda Pop Top as well.  I used Cherry Cobbler powder on this one.

There’s a lot of faux-metal going on in this tray overall.  I encorporated it twice in this compartment.  The ‘#1’ in the center of the small Soda Pop Top is done with faux metal technique and after tearing the strip of paper down to size for ‘brother’ I also stamped that with the faux metal technique.

These next two photos of my boys have some more of the faux metal.  I wanted to add some of their characteristics into the tray so I stamped ‘kind’ and ‘sweet’ from Fabulous Phrases with the same technique and to include some boyish embellishments I added the paper rosettes!

This last photo has a couple of things to share.  I created a shaker box clock and filled it with Glass Glitter and then added the forever banner.  This time, I just stamped the letters with versamark and pewter embossing powder.

I really enjoyed making this tray!  I loved focusing on a project that was all about two of the people that mean the most to me in the World!  It was a lot of work but I love it when altering the look of something, like the colors of these embellishments works out!   I hope you’re inspired to try some of these techniques.

I’m sad that this is the 2nd last day of seeing my fellow team member’s creations for the contest but can’t wait to see what they have to share!  And be assured, we’ll have lots to share with you throughout the year!  Now I’m off to Becky’s blog and hope you’ll hop along with me all the way to Mercedes’!
