At long last…the Ornament Punch is available to order

Some things are just worth the wait!  You might be wondering why I am or you should be excited about the ornament punch in March?!?! …. I know it still seems like Winter at least here in Manitoba it sure does!  The temperature was not quite as cold this morning as it has been, but the wind was nasty enough that when picking up our children for lunch, us parents had tears trickling down our cheeks!  Maybe Spring is waiting for us to stop calling before it comes?!  So, aside from subtle hints here with my cards I'll give the pleading for Spring a rest.

I'm going to share Spring (maybe even Summer…I'm feeling very wishful!) here with you in the form of these projects and have created them using none other than the Ornament Punch!  It has so many uses besides just the obvious ornament.  Punch art truly is amazing!  While I can't take the credit for coming up with these clever uses of our punches in creating things totally different than the shapes our punches are just on their own, I want to share with you some of what has inspired me.  Stampin Connection (our demo message board/resource for sharing) and many other sites have an endless supply of resources and ideas for using punches to create fun and creative characters and things!

The ornament punch alone has been used to create so many different things like a fish, a rose, an acorn, elves, a cute little mouse, a vase, a strawberry, a spaceship, a pirate, a bunny, a bee and a fox….just to name a few!

The fish is one of my favorites and is an easier one to duplicate so I thought I'd give it a try and came up with this card.  I've also been eager to give Apple Blossoms (a level 2 hostess set) a try so I used it for a 'seaweed' look.

This card uses

Stamps & Ink: Apple Blossoms, Love you Much (friend to friend), Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive & Old Olive Craft

Cardstock & Paper: Sahara Sand CS, Pumpkin Pie CS, Peach Parfait CS, Tempting Turquoise CS, Baja Breeze CS, Old Olive CS, Whisper White CS, Basic Black CS, Pumpkin Pie & Daffodil Delight DSP

Accessories: Ornament Punch, Five Petal Flower Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, 1/8", 1/16" and 1/4" circle Punches, Big Shot, Tasteful Trim XL die, Linen Thread, Crystal Effects, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool & Powder Pals and Stamping Sponges!

That's all the supplies on that one folks!

Many demos have created this ornament paper rose so I had to try my hand at one.  This is my very first attempt, so it's not perfect but I do like the look.  I used to work in a floral shop as well. One of my favorites of the roses was a two-toned one that we called 'harmony'.  This one reminds me of that.  Enjoy!

This rose uses:

Ornament Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Whisper White CS, Blushing Bride Ink and Stamping Sponges! That's it, nothing more!  🙂

If you have any other clever uses for the ornament punch, please share them with us.  I'm sure there are many more ways to use this punch!  I'm amazed by what your creative minds come up with.  Thanks for stopping today!  I'll be back again soon with the projects of my upcoming classes and a fun scrapbook layout!

Have a wonderful Friday!
